If you've just bought yourself a bike-touring bag, it's important to know how to use it.
To store your bag, roll it up in a clean, dry piece of fabric. Keep it in a dry place and do not put anything on top of it.
Looking after your bag is the best way to extend its lifespan. In fact, the better care you take of it, the longer it will last.
You should wash your bike after every ride.
- Take your bag off your bike.
- Get some lukewarm, soapy water and a soft tea towel.
- Gently brush the entire surface of your bag, both inside and out. Aim to remove all encrusted bits of dirt.
- Dry your bag using a clean tea towel (avoid microfibre towels) and leave it in a dry place. Never leave it to dry in the sun.
Never machine-wash your bag. This will damage it and could ruin its waterproofing.
You'll soon be able to buy patches to cover any holes.
If you've machine-washed your product, it may have lost its waterproofing properties.
Another reason for this loss of waterproofing could be that there is a small hole. Take a look at the "YOU'VE MADE A HOLE IN YOUR BAG" section.
Your dry bag comes with a two-year warranty.
