BEGINNING WITH THE DISCOVERY 300 BOW

A few tips for beginning with the Discovery 300 bow.

How to hold your bow

As soon as you begin archery, the first thing you should do is determine your dominant eye. That is generally the eye that corresponds with your dominant hand.
To find out which eye is dominant, we recommend a very simple test:
- with the target facing you, arms extended toward the target, make a circle with your fingers and look through the circle at the target.
- Move your hands close to your face while looking at the target.
- Naturally, they will move in front of your aiming eye, known as the dominant eye.

If you aim with your right eye, you are a right-handed archer. You should hold the bow with your left hand and draw the string with your right hand.
In the same way, if you aim with your left eye, you are a left-handed archer. You should hold the bow with your right hand and draw the string with your left hand.

Aiming your arrow

The arrow should be placed on the arrow rest with the cock feather pointing up. The cock feather is the feather with a unique colour or one that is different from the 2 others (in this photo: the yellow feather).

Aiming with the Discovery 300 bow

The principle of aiming with this bow is called" instinctive" aiming.
Aiming "instinctively" is done with alignment: eye, nock, point.
Allowing you to aim at short distances only, this method is suited to beginning archery, which is the case with this product.
For greater distances, you'll need different aiming techniques.
