What is Bluetooth Smart?
Bluetooth SMART (or Bluetooth Low Energy) is a wireless communication technology.
Its distinguishing feature is its capacity to communicate using very little power.
That's why it is increasingly featured in portable devices such as smartwatches, trackers and GPS watches.
What's the difference between Bluetooth and Bluetooth smart ?
Bluetooth SMART differs from "traditional" Bluetooth. The traditional version uses far more power and allows a greater rate of transfer. That's why it is commonly used in appliances such as headphones or hands-free kits.
Its pairing mode is also different.
Bluetooth SMART products don't appear in the Bluetooth device lists of smartphones. They require you to download an app.
They can only be paired to your phone via this app!
