Practical questions
No. Lithium-ion batteries have no memory effect and can therefore be charged at any time.
We recommend charging your battery regularly to maintain its performance.
The battery range of your electric bike depends on a number of factors:
> THE LOAD ON THE BIKE: Battery range is reduced if the bike is overloaded.
> TYPE OF TERRAIN: Battery range is reduced when riding uphill.
> TYRE PRESSURE: Battery range will be longer with tyres inflated between 3.5 and 5 bar.
> OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE: Battery range is reduced in cold weather.
> ELECTRIC ASSISTANCE MODE: We recommend using a lower assistance mode when the battery level is low.
> PEDALLING CADENCE: You have to pedal to go further.
> FOLLOWING THE BATTERY CHARGING AND STORING INSTRUCTIONS
The ELOPS 920E has an average battery range of 50 to 90 km. Following best practices ensures you get the most out of your bike's battery.
Press the ON/OFF button to change to TRIP mode.
Press and hold the "-" button for more than 10 seconds. The trip counter will reset to zero.
This bike is an electric assistance (pedal-assist) bike. That means you can certainly ride it without the electric assistance turned on.
Bear in mind that the extra weight of the motor makes pedalling a bit harder than on a standard bike.
It's essential that you store your battery charged and in a place that is cool (between 10°C and 25°C) and dry, away from direct sunlight.
Do not store the battery when it is low or flat (1 LED is flashing), to avoid a deep discharge state, which can cause it to malfunction.
Remember to charge the battery (even if you haven't used it) at least once every 3 months to avoid a state of deep discharge which could affect the battery's performance.
If you're unable to charge your battery regularly when in storage, set it to standby mode (see questions about standby mode).
It takes six hours to fully charge the battery after it has been completely drained.
The warranty on your battery is for 2 years or 500 charge cycles (1 cycle = 1 full charge + 1 full discharge).
You can buy a new battery at your local Decathlon workshop.
We recommend contacting the workshop to find out if they have your battery model in stock, and if not, how long it will take to arrive.
Yes, the charger and battery are designed so that they can be left plugged in round the clock.
Once the battery is fully charged, the charger will automatically shut itself off (the LED indicator on the charger will turn off).
Your bike is compatible with the GROOVY child seat sold in Decathlon stores.
To change the unit on the display (between km/h and miles/h), press and hold the "LIGHT" button .
You can now choose between km and miles.
The bike turns off automatically after a few minutes if it isn't being used.
No, it doesn't have a dynamo. Some systems let you charge the battery as you ride or brake, but this doesn't generate much power. You'd have to ride several dozen kilometres to generate 1 km of additional power.
When your battery wears out, take it to your local Decathlon store, which will send it to a specialist recycling facility.

Walk mode is an electric assistance mode that helps you push your bike when you are walking it rather than riding on it. It can come in very handy in certain situations, such as getting out of an underground garage, etc.
Walk mode allows you to push your bike along effortlessly.
Switch to assistance mode 1 and press and hold the "+" button to activate and use the walk mode.
Continue holding the button down to move the bike forward. Be mindful that the bike's electric motor will engage and the bike will begin to move forward at a constant speed of 6 km/h.
Simply release the button to exit walk mode and stop the bike.
Never use walk mode while riding the bike, as this can damage the motor.
Yes, the electric Elops 920E is an electrically assisted (also called pedal-assist) bicycle.
The electric assistance only engages when the user is pedalling. (A bike with a motorised system that requires no pedalling is considered to be a moped, with much stricter usage restrictions and safety rules.)
A torque sensor located in the motor unit transmits pedal power information to the bike's on-board computer, which then activates the motor.
This sensor measures the pedalling power of the user, and provides assistance proportional to the force applied to the pedals. This means that the more pressure you put on the pedals, the more electrical assistance is provided, resulting in a smooth pedalling action without jolts.
The amount of assistance provided can also be adjusted by selecting an assistance mode (1, 2, or 3). The rider must provide greater pedalling force when in mode 1 than in mode 3 to achieve the same assisted speed.
We recommend using mode 3 when riding uphill, since pedalling power will be less when climbing.
Having the right tyre pressure is particularly important on an electric bike, as the wheels have to bear both the weight of the bike and that of the motor.
To minimise the risk of a puncture and increase your battery life, inflate your tyres to between 3.5 and 5 bar.
The battery is designed to be used in the rain, but it should not be submerged in water or washed with a high-pressure washer or hose.
The same is true for the display and the other electrical components and cables.
Nevertheless, we recommend sheltering your bike from the rain as much as possible when you're not riding it.
The battery is equipped with a standby mode that allows it to be stored without having to be charged regularly.
When in standby mode, the battery can be safely stored for up to a year without recharging, with no impact on the battery's performance.
If you store the battery without placing it in standby mode, you must charge the battery at least once every 3 months to maintain its performance.
You can select which information about your ride to display by first pressing the ON/OFF button.
- TRIP: partial distance counter (can be reset to zero in the settings)
- ODO: total distance counter
- TRIP to GO: remaining estimated battery range, depending on the current battery charge and selected assistance mode.

1. Make sure no residue is hindering the charging action.
The connectors on the battery and the charger must be clean, and there should be no residue hindering contact between the charger and the battery.
2. Check the connection between the Battery, Charger, and Power Mains
> Check that you are using an original charger from Decathlon.
> Plug the charger into the battery and into a power mains socket.
Steady Red LED: battery is charging
Steady Green LED: battery has finished charging
Flashing LED: there is a problem with the battery or the charger
It takes about 6 hours to charge a battery that is fully discharged.
3. One of the LED indicator lights on the battery may be defective.
Please take your bike to a Decathlon workshop for repair.

The battery range of your electric bike depends on many factors:

The ELOPS 920E has an average battery range of 50 to 90 km. Following best practices ensures you get the most out of your bike's battery.
2. A battery's performance can drop as it ages,
which will shorten its range. Please visit your local Decathlon workshop to run a health check on your battery.
Note: the Elops 920e is an electric assistance bike that is activated by a torque sensor. This means that if you stop putting pressure on the pedals and simply rest your feet on them as they turn, the electric assistance will shut off. If you find pedalling too difficult, set the bike to a higher assistance mode and switch to a lower (and thus easier) gear ratio.
The electric assistance will automatically cut off once the bike reaches a speed of 25 km/h; this is not a malfunction.
If, however, you find that the assistance cuts in and out abnormally and in a jerky manner, please check the following:
1. Check that the battery is charged.
If the battery is almost empty and the bike is set to a high assistance mode, this can produce a somewhat jerky effect before the battery goes completely flat.
> Remove the battery from the bike.
> Press the button on the battery.
> Check that at least two LEDs light up.
> If none of the LEDs turn on, charge the battery.
2. Check that the battery is clean, fully inserted and locked down.
> Check that the battery connectors and its housing are clean and in good condition.
> The battery must be pushed all the way into its housing.
When inserting the battery into its housing, you should hear a "click" that confirms the battery is properly in place.
3. Check the position of the speed sensor magnet on the wheel.
> Find the corresponding magnet attached to one of the spokes of the rear wheel.
> This magnet must be positioned in front of the marker circled in red on the diagram, at a distance of 5 to 17 mm.
> If this is not the case, reposition the magnet. To do this, unscrew the magnet using a crosshead screwdriver, place it in the correct position and tighten the screw to attach it to the spoke.
If you are unable to correctly adjust the position of the magnet and the speed sensor, please contact us via the help form, or visit your nearest Decathlon workshop.
It's important that the battery is fully locked down, especially when riding!
The purpose of the lock is not only to prevent theft, but also to keep the battery in place even when the bike is jolted (when going over a bump, getting onto or off the sidewalk, etc.); the lock prevents the battery from slipping and disconnecting.
Check that the battery is fully inserted into its housing and locked down.
New batteries are stored in standby mode so that they won't wear down.
The first time you use your bike, you must first connect your battery to its charger and plug it in to a socket to "wake it up", if the store has not already done so.
You can make a copy of your backup key at any locksmith.
We will provide you with a new pair of keys for the new lock.
Make sure the battery is fully inserted, and check that it is locked down before each use.
If the battery is not fully inserted or is jostled while riding without having been locked down, this can create a poor connection between the battery and the bike's electronics and prevent the complete and accurate transmission of data about the state of the battery, including its charge level, to the bike's on-board computer.
Electric assistance engages after several pedal rotations, and requires continuous pedalling by the rider (pressure applied to the pedals). An assistance mode must also be selected.
If your electrical assistance still isn't turning on, follow these steps:
1. Check the battery level.
If the battery is low and the selected assistance level is too high for the remaining charge, the electrical assistance will shut itself off.
The bike will automatically conserve the remaining battery power for use with lower assistance levels and to power the bike's lights.
If the first LED blinks or no LEDs light up, the battery is flat. Plug it into its charger and connect to a power mains socket to charge it.
2. Check that the battery is clean, fully inserted and locked down.
> Check that the battery connectors and its housing are clean and in good condition.
> The battery must be pushed all the way into its housing.
When inserting the battery into its housing, you should hear a "click" that confirms the battery is properly in place.
Next, screw down the battery (a battery that is not screwed down may still move around inside its housing and become disconnected when the bike goes over a large bump).
3. Check the position of the speed sensor magnet on the wheel.
> Find the corresponding magnet attached to one of the spokes of the rear wheel.
> This magnet must be positioned in front of the marker circled in red on the diagram, at a distance of 5 to 17 mm.
> If this is not the case, reposition the magnet. To do this, unscrew the magnet using a crosshead screwdriver, place it in the correct position and tighten the screw to attach it to the spoke.
4. Let the system cool down.

> Push the neoprene sleeve around the cable coming out of the console down a bit to expose the connector.
> Loosen the two knobs and pull to disconnect the console from the connector cable.
> Check that the electronic circuit boards are not bent.
> Reconnect the console, taking care to orient the connectors correctly to avoid bending the circuit board! Use the two arrows etched into each side of the connectors to check the orientation. The two arrows should be facing each other before you insert the connector.
> Once the connectors are fully plugged in, lock the connection in place by turning the knobs until the connection joint is slightly compressed and deformed.
4. Let the system cool down.
In high temperatures, or after a long ride, the electric system may overheat. Allow the bike to cool down by not using the electric assistance for several minutes and then restarting it.
6. Turn the display on by pressing the ON/OFF button.
Turn the console display on by pressing the ON/OFF button.
If the display still does not turn on, please contact us through this website or visit your nearest Decathlon workshop for repairs.
1. Check the tyre pressure.
> The air pressure of the tyres is a determining factor in the efficiency of the electrical assistance. Before each ride, check that the tyres are inflated to a pressure between 3.5 and 5 bars.
2. Do not overload the bike.
ERROR 10 or 12: BATTERY VOLTAGE IS TOO LOW
Charge your battery. If the error persists, please visit your nearest Decathlon workshop to run a diagnostics on the battery.
ERROR 11: BATTERY VOLTAGE IS TOO HIGH
Turn the bike off and let the electric system rest. Turn the bike back on. If the error persists, please visit your nearest Decathlon workshop to run a diagnostics on the battery.
ERROR CODE 20 or 24: POWER ERROR
Turn off the bike and let the system cool down. charge the battery if it is low.
Turn the bike back on. If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 21 or 23: TEMPERATURE SENSOR ERROR
Turn off the bike and let the system rest. Turn the bike back on. If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 25: MOTOR POWER ERROR
Turn off the bike and let the system rest. Charge the battery if it is low.
Turn the bike back on. If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 26: STARTUP ERROR
Turn off the bike and let the system rest. Turn the bike back on. If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 30: WALK MODE ERROR
Turn off the bike and let the system rest. Turn the bike back on. If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 40 or 41: MOTOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH
There is too much pull on the motor.
Let the motor rest by stopping the bike or lowering the level of assistance (less powerful pedalling and selecting a lower assistance mode), and charge the battery. If the error persists, bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 42 or 43: MOTOR ERROR
There is too much pull on the motor.
Let the motor cool down by stopping the bike or using the electric assistance less (less powerful pedalling, and selecting a lighter electric assistance mode). If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 44: MOTOR IS OVERHEATED
There is too much pull on the motor.
Let the motor cool down by stopping the bike or using the electric assistance less (less powerful pedalling, and selecting a lighter electric assistance mode). If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 45: ERROR CODE CORRECTED DURING USE
Turn the bike off and back on. If the error persists, please take your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 46: MOTOR DOES NOT COME ON DESPITE PRESSURE BEING APPLIED TO THE PEDALS
Turn off the bike and check that the battery is properly inserted. Check the position of the speed sensor magnet on one of the rear wheel spokes. It must be lined up as shown in the photo.
Turn the bike back on. If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 60: BATTERY-MOTOR COMMUNICATION ERROR
Turn off the bike and check that the battery is properly inserted. Turn the bike back on. If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 70, 71, 72 or 73: TORQUE SENSOR ERROR
Turn the bike off and back on while taking care not to have your foot on either pedal as the display turns on. If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 80, 82 or 83: MOTOR SETTINGS OR PROGRAMME ERROR
Turn the bike off and on. If the error persists, please bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
ERROR 81: UNKNOWN SPEED INFORMATION
Check the position of the speed sensor magnet on one of the rear wheel spokes. It must be lined up as shown in the photo.
The electric assistance only engages when there is a pedalling motion. It requires that pressure be applied to the pedals and an assistance mode be selected.
If your electrical assistance still isn't turning on, follow these steps:
1. Check that the battery is charged.
You can check the battery level by pressing the battery's power button.
If the first LED blinks or no LEDs light up, the battery is flat. Plug it into its charger and connect to a power mains socket to charge it.
2. Check that the battery is clean, fully inserted and locked down.

Lock the battery and remove the key.
3. Check the position of the speed sensor magnet on the wheel.

Turn on the console display by pressing the ON/OFF button until the screen comes on.
6. Select an assistance mode other than 0.
If the mode displayed on the screen is 0, the motor will not deliver any electrical assistance.
Select assistance modes 1, 2 or 3.
Once the mode is selected, start pedalling, pressing firmly on the pedals. Select a higher assistance mode (3 is the highest) if the amount of pedalling force needed to engage the electrical assistance is too difficult for you.
If the electrical assistance still fails to activate, please contact us or bring your bike to a Decathlon workshop.
The rear wheel hub may be incorrectly adjusted. Follow the tutorial below to adjust your gears correctly.
> 1st LED is flashing: The battery is almost empty and needs to be charged. Plug it into its charger and connect to a mains socket to charge it.
> 2nd LED is flashing: The battery is in "low voltage" protection mode due to improper handling or a long period without recharging. Plug the battery into its charger and connect to a mains to charge it as soon as possible; when charged it will exit protective mode automatically.
> If another LED light flashes, or several are flashing simultaneously, the battery is defective. In that case, please bring your battery to a Decathlon workshop for a full diagnostics.
Regular maintenance is important to maintain your bike's performance and extend its lifespan. Here are some tips on caring for your bike.
1. Before each ride, check that your tyre pressure is between 3.5 and 5 bars.
2. Recharge the battery fully at least once every 3 months.
3. If you won't be riding the bike for a long period of time, set the battery to standby mode.
4. Store the battery in a place that is dry, cool and away from direct sunlight.
FRAME
Made from aluminium. The LF model (white frame) is lowered for easy step-through.

Size M is for cyclists who are 1.55 m to 1.75 m tall.~

FORK
Telescopic suspension fork without adjustments. The fork dampens the vibrations on the road. When riding on cobblestone streets, it cushions the shocks from the bumps in the road.

Shimano Nexus 7-speed 20T built into the hub and operated by a grip shifter on the handlebar.
It is very easy to use, and you can change gears even when the bike is stopped.
