2024

We firmly believe that the life cycle of a product does not end when it gets damaged. This is why we offer solutions for properly using, maintaining and repairing your product, in order to extend its lifespan.

FIRST USE

Using your hammock for the first time

The good weather is coming, and it's time to take out your hammock. It's your first time and you don't know how to go about it? Don’t panic. It’s really easy!

First, make sure you have a space with at least two trees between 3.3 and 6 metres apart. Choose two sturdy-looking trees to support the weight of one or two people, depending on the type of hammock you have.

Then take out the two black straps, which you place in front of each tree, and secure each one around it using a knot called a "lark’s head/cow hitch". Then, remove the length with a carabiner on it from the cover and connect it to the first tree, and do the same with the second carabiner for the second tree.

You’re now ready to read a book or take a relaxing nap in the sun’s rays.

Looking after your hammock

Cleaning 🧼

To preserve the quality of your hammock, be sure to clean it regularly, especially if it is used frequently or exposed to the elements. By keeping your hammock clean, you reduce the risk of mould, dirt build-up, insect infestation and mould growth.

We do not recommend putting your hammock canvas in the washing machine, as this could damage its textile properties.

Instead, we recommend:
- Actively shake your hammock to remove most of the surface dirt,
- Lay your hammock flat on a clean surface and scrub the canvas with a soft-bristled brush,
- Address stains by cleaning them using an organic soap such as Aleppo, Marseille or Black soap,
- Rinse your canvas to remove the cleaning agent,
- Hang your canvas outside to dry

Storage 📦

After washing your hammock, make sure it’s completely dry before folding it away. Just like with damp clothes, folding up a hammock while still damp presents a risk of mould developing.

For storage, place the straps on one side and fold your hammock by rolling it up on itself before putting it back in its cover. We recommend storing your hammock in a dry place to prevent mould from starting to form on it. In a waterproof bag out of the sun, a dry, cool basement is the ideal place to spend the winter.

Repair it yourself

Although our materials are designed to last, maintaining and caring for your hammock ensures a longer lifespan. We have also considered your needs by providing spare parts on our hammocks so you can repair your equipment yourself.
