This pump is compatible with the following valves: Presta - Schrader - Dunlop
The goal of a foot pump is to precisely inflate your tyres before each ride.
The tyre pressure varies for each practice, whether mountain biking, road biking, hybrid biking, or touring.
Mountain Biking
- between 1.8 and 2.2 bars
- the minimum and maximum pressures for its original assembly with an inner tube are displayed on the tyre wall. However, keep in mind that tyre pressure can be personalised, and the pressure will depend on your weight, the terrain you're riding on, and your feeling. You'll need to strike the right balance between pedalling efficiency (high pressure) and comfort/grip (low pressure).
HYBRID and CITY
Here's the recommended tyre pressure based on the bike load (the rider's weight + luggage):
- 45 to 65kg: 3 bars
- 65 to 80 kg: 4 bars
- 80 to 100 kg: 5 bars
For electric bikes, we recommend inflating your tyres between 4 and 5 bars.
Road biking
For example, with a cyclist weighing 70 kg:
- Stable weather: 7.6 / 7.8 bar.
- Rainy weather: 7.1 / 7.2 bar.
- Temperature < 5°C: 7.3 / 7.5 bar.
Depending on your frequency of use, there are a few ways to check:
Daily use (3 - 7 days a week).
- you'll need to inflate to the recommended pressure at the beginning of the week.
- before each ride, check that the tyre hasn't lost pressure by pushing with your thumb.
Occasional use (once a week).
- you'll need to inflate your tyres before each use, since they lose pressure.
Instructions
There are several possible reasons for this problem:
- you haven't screwed the pump far enough onto the valve.
- you haven't unscrewed the valve enough (except with Schrader).
- Make sure you're using the right pump tip with the right valve.
- Check that you have one of the following valves: Presta - Schrader - Dunlop.
- Push on the tip and screw on at the same time.
- Check that the pump is screwed properly onto the valve
- To optimise inflation, place the valve perpendicular to the ground (on the top or bottom), so that the tip is straight
