Assembly

How to get on the balance bike

So you've ordered the balance bike online and it's just been delivered to your house. As you unpack it, you see that the balance bike is in several parts.

The assembly step is a must! Don't worry, we'll guide you step by step...

First, you'll see the following elements in the box: the saddle is separate, you'll also find a tool attached to the rear wheel. The handlebar is in the first bag, the rear wheel and fork are in the second bag.

Be careful, the handlebar is attached to the frame by a brake cable (handle with care).

1ST STEP: take the front wheel and remove the collar from the fork.

Then insert the fork into the frame. Put the collar of the handlebar into the fork. Then insert the handlebar directly into the fork (there is a guide marked on the vertical tube of the handlebar).

2ND STEP: Position the balance bike with both wheels on the ground or on a flat surface (i.e. on a table). Put the collar of the handlebar into contact with the steering lock ring.

3RD STEP: tightening. Use the tool attached to the rear wheel (size 13 spanner), to tighten the handlebar clamp. The clamp should be tight enough to hold the handlebar in place. Under normal circumstances there should be no need to force it (this could damage the parts).

4TH STEP: Insert the saddle into the frame. You can then tighten the seat clamp collar (making sure it is inserted to at least the minimum amount).

The balance bike is now ready! Now, remember to correctly adjust the saddle and handlebar height for the size of the child who will use it before going out for the first ride!We also recommend checking the brakes work correctly.

First use: check the configuration of the bike

How to check the brakes are correctly adjusted

Roll the balance bike, holding it by the handlebar. Press the brake lever. The rear wheel should stop moving with this action.

If you notice the brake is not working correctly, please try the following: There is an adjustment wheel in front of the brake lever. You should see a "+" and a "-" shown above it. If you turn the wheel clockwise (towards the "+"), that will tighten the brake (= more powerful braking). If you turn the wheel anti-clockwise (towards the "-"), that will loosen the brake (= less powerful braking).

It's important to regularly check that the brake is correctly adjusted.

How to correctly adjust the height of the saddle and handlebar before the first ride

A well-adjusted saddle is essential for helping your child ride in the position that will help them learn with full confidence.

When they start, it's important that their feet are flat on the ground when they are sitting on the saddle.

When you feel that they are comfortable on how to propel the bike and begin to pick up speed, you can adjust the saddle so that just the forefoot is in contact with the ground.

When adjusting the handlebar, it can be lowered as far as the line under the letter "S" in the "STOP" that appears on the handlebar tube.

Children grow quickly, so remember to check the height of the handlebar and saddle regularly.

Maintaining a kids' balance bike

How to store a balance bike

We recommend storing the balance bike in a dry place.  It's important to ensure it is kept dry.

How to clean the balance bike handles

Simply wipe with a damp cloth with soap or washing up liquid, then wipe with a dry cloth!

How to wash the balance bike

If you notice that the balance bike is dirty after a few rides (mud, rain, dust, etc.), give it a clean.

If it's just dust, it's simple: use a dry cloth to clean it. If there's more persistent mud or other dirt, you can clean it with a bucket of hot water and a sponge (or a wet cloth) with soap or bike shampoo. You can then clean the dirty parts of the bike (frame, fork, handlebar, wheel).

DID YOU KNOW?   Avoid spraying your balance bike with the hose: some components won't like it!

When you've finished, all you need to do is wipe it down with a dry cloth to prevent rust.Take the opportunity to check the tightness of the clamps and wheels: are they tight enough? If not, tighten them with a spanner.
