Using your air seconds mattress for the first time

How to inflate this mattress

It is really important to inflate your mattress to a good pressure.
Do not over-inflate in order to reduce wear and tear and avoid damaging your back, but inflate the mattress enough so that it is comfortable and allows you to sleep properly.

The ideal inflation of this type of mattress is a moderate inflation (0.02 BAR or 0.3 PSI) at which your bottom can feel the ground when you are seated on the mattress. When you are lying on the mattress, it conforms to the shape of the whole body, making you feel very comfortable.

You can inflate this mattress with our camping foot and hand pumps, but the valve does not work with an electric pump.

Added extra of this mattress: it inflates very quickly.

How to deflate and fold this mattress into its bag

Just open the cap of the mattress so that it gradually deflates on its own. To speed up the process, stand at the opposite end to the cap and press down on the mattress so the air comes out faster.

You can now start by folding it widthwise with 2, 3 or 4 folds depending on the size of the mattress. Then roll it up lengthwise so that it can be stored in its bag. Remember to close the cap.

How to sleep well on an inflatable mattress

As mentioned previously, the pressure of the mattress is the key to a good night's sleep. When seated, you should be able to feel the ground. When you are lying down, the air will spread evenly under your whole body.

There is no preferred way to sleep: you can sleep with your head at the valve end or at the other end; lie down as you see fit!

For maximum comfort, get a sleeping bag with the correct temperature rating, as well as a pillow.

How to stop your mattress from making noises

When you sleep, the sound of rubbing between the mattress and the ground can be annoying.
Do not over-inflate in order to minimise this problem.

You can also put a blanket or a sheet under the mattress.

How to optimise the insulation of your mattress

If you want to improve the thermal insulation of your mattress and get better protection from the cold and moisture of the ground, you can put a foam mattress or a survival blanket under your mattress, or a groundsheet under your tent

Your mattress appears to have a hole in it and you are probably wondering where the leak is coming from. Indeed, it is difficult to spot a hole in the mattress with the naked eye. Put some soapy water on the surface of the inflated mattress beforehand and wait for air bubbles to form showing you the correct location of the leak.
