First use and assembly

A diving octopus is a back-up regulator. It is a mandatory piece of scuba diving equipment. An octopus is used to assist another diver. In an emergency: if a diver is out of air, it will allow the diver to breathe from your tank. It is brightly coloured, usually yellow to be easily spotted underwater in an emergency.

Octopus maintenance

Regular maintenance of your diving equipment is essential for the safety of your future dives but also to help your equipment last as long as possible.

RINSE

Rinse your octopus with fresh water to prevent corrosion of the metal parts

CLEAN

Use vinegar to thoroughly clean the screw threads and apply silicone grease to the seals to keep them watertight

DRY AND STORE

Leave the regulator out to dry in the shade then store it in a bag without tangling the hoses

OUR TIP

Maintenance after each session and at the end of the season is not a substitute for servicing by an authorised service centre. Servicing must carried out every two years or every 100 dives in case of intensive use.
