How do i set my stride length?

There are 2 ways of setting your stride length on your Geonaute pedometer: automatically (AUTO) or manually (MANU). This setting is applied in the 'Set' menu of your pedometer.AUTO: Depending on your height, the pedometer will automatically calculate your stride length using a patented Oxylane algorithm.MANU: For the most accurate results, you can enter your stride length manually. To measure your stride length: Walk 10 metres, counting the number of steps you take, then use the following formula: 10 metres/number of strides = length of stride

How can i switch off my pedometer?

You don't need to switch off your pedometer. Indeed, it goes into sleep mode after 30 minutes of inactivity. It 'wakes up' automatically as soon as you start walking or when you press one of the buttons.

What is the correct way of carrying my pedometer?

Your pedometer is equipped with a 3D accelerometer which means it can be kept: in your pocket, on your belt or in your handbag.

How do i reset my pedometer?

You can reset your pedometer by pressing simultaneously the two "arrow" buttons for 1.5 seconds. When resetting the information on the ONwalk 900, this continues to be stored in your pedometer's memory.

Accuracy

What is the accuracy of my pedometer?

Decathlon pedometers have a margin of error of less than 5% on the step count and less than 10% on the distance measurement (pedometer placed in the pocket). Caution: The measurement of the distance being linked to the setting of the step length, a bad setting of the latter can have an impact on the accuracy of the distance

The readings on my pedometer seem incorrect or inaccurate. why is this?

Inaccurate readings on your pedometer may be caused by several factors:
- an incorrect stride length setting. If this is set to 'AUTO' mode, we recommend that you set it to 'MANU' mode.
- if you are using your pedometer for an activity other than normal or fast walking, e.g. running, hiking etc.

Can i use my pedometer for running or hiking?

Your pedometer is designed for normal walking and brisk walking. The algorithms used to calculate calories and distance etc., are not designed to track running or elevation changes. These values will therefore be inaccurate.

Another question?

How do i change the units of my pedometer (distance in metres or miles)?

To change the units of your pedometer, just go to the 'Set' menu and select the weight or height setting. You will initially be asked to set the measurement unit. Once you have set this unit, this will be used as the reference unit for all the values of your pedometer (wait, distance, height). Consequently, if you set your weight in pounds, the distance information will be displayed in miles.

I walk with my pedometer but there is no change in the reading on screen.

The stride count reading begins after 7 paces. Once you have completed 7 paces, the display is activated and the pedometer starts counting from 7. The pedometer does not take into account readings of less than 7 paces. This is to avoid counting peripheral movements and ensure the best possible level of accuracy.

My clip is lost or broken. where can i get another one?

Spare parts are available from the workshop of your nearest Decathlon store.

My pedometer does not automatically reset to zero at midnight, what should i do?

The 'Auto reset' menu in the settings (Set) mode of your pedometer is used to enable or disable the function, which automatically resets the values of your pedometer at midnight. When this is disabled (OFF), the pedometer does not reset to zero at midnight. When this is enabled (ON), the pedometer automatically resets to zero at midnight.
