A pair of shoes with a rigid sole for cyclists looking for performance
Designed for regular to intensive MTB XC and gravel riding
ADJUSTING YOUR CLEATS
Your cleats are adjustable both in depth and width. It is advisable to position the cleat at the level of the metatarsal (the bone in the foot that forms a bump below the big toe) in order to increase efficiency.
Be aware that incorrect positioning of the cleats can lead to pain in the pelvis and especially in the knees. Do not hesitate to consult a specialist if these pains persist.
TIGHTEN THE CLEAT
Screw in the cleat until it no longer turns. After your first outing, check that the cleat hasn't moved. If it has, fix the position and screw it in more tightly.
If you have a torque wrench, you can tighten your cleat with a tightening torque of 6 N/m.
Adjusting your pedals
Your MTB XC 500 shoes have a rigid sole to improve pedalling performance. It is easier to (un)clip than with a soft shoe.
Before setting off, practise clipping in and out using a wall for balance.
Like all products, our shoes have an environmental impact over their life span.
To extend the life span of your shoes and reduce their environmental impact, it's important to care for them properly.
Take care of your shoes - the planet will thank you and so will your wallet.
We do all we can to reduce it, but we should note: Our shoes have an environmental impact.
Understanding the issues around climate and use of resources, the DECATHLON teams are aiming for 100% of their products to undergo an eco-design process by 2026.
However, design is not the only phase in a product's life cycle that has a negative environmental impact. That's why we try to promote more durable use and a cleaner end-of-life for our products, and you have a role to play in all that!
First, forget about the washing machine and dryer. They will damage your shoes and cause premature wear. To clean your shoes, you only need a brush or sponge, water and some mild soap. Detergents and aggressive chemical cleaning products aren't necessary.
Start by removing the insoles and soak them in soapy water, then brush them. Let them air dry before putting them back in your shoes.
If your shoes have dried mud on them, you can remove most of it by knocking the heels together. Next, soak your shoes in water and use the brush to clean off any remaining dirt. To prevent rust forming, be sure to wipe the cleats down with a dry cloth. Finally, air dry your shoes without exposing them to direct sunlight or placing them near a radiator.
TIP: To speed up the drying of your shoe, you can place balled up sheets of newspaper inside it and position it vertically!
Habu provides a lifetime warranty on its tightening systems!
The Habu system gives riders maximum control when adjusting their shoes; helping to keep the foot in place and improve performance.
Launched by BOA Technology Inc., habu® Fit System wheels and laces have undergone thousands of hours of rigorous tests in the lab and on the field to be approved, and are guaranteed to last the lifetime of the shoe on which they are fitted.
If you encounter the slightest problem with the tightening system on your shoes, contact the after-sales service, available on the habufit.com/support website.

Check that your cleat is properly screwed into your shoe and that it's still in good shape.
If necessary, add a spacer between the cleat and the shoe (supplied with the cleats).
