In this video, we'll describe exactly how to set up your feeder rigging.
It's essential that you regularly maintain your rod to guarantee its durability and performances in the long term, as external elements such as water, sand, dirt, and dust can deteriorate over time.
To clean your rod properly, you need to dismantle the entire assembly. Then, using a soft cloth soaked in warm water, gently wipe the surface. Once cleaned, leave to air dry before storing.
Storing your rod in a sheath is an essential step in protecting and preserving it over the long term.
In this video, we'll cover all of the important information on taking care of your reel.
Here, the video refers to a sea fishing reel, but the method is similar to the one used for a fresh water reel.
1/ Hold the reel in a horizontal position, with the brake tightened and crank screwed: Rinse in low-pressure fresh water (tap/shower) without immersing the reel in water!
2/ Make sure you rinse the spool really well (around 15 seconds)
3/ If needed, use a toothbrush to remove any dirt from hard-to-reach places
4/ Quickly turn the reel to get rid of excess water
5/ Remove the spool and dry it using a soft, dry cloth
6/ Add a drop of oil to any sensitive points (roller, axes, crank button, bearings on each side of the casing) then turn the reel
7/ Store in a dry place with the brake loosened
NB: Be careful when using anti-grip products such as WD40, as they also remove the grease and require careful re-lubrication (see "Greasing your reel")
