HOW TO USE THE DYNAMO CORRECTLY

To use the dynamo without damaging your tyre, follow the recommendations shown in the video below:

WHICH CARRIER SYSTEMS ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE BIKE?

A carrier system has been created for your bike (a pannier rack for this bike model).

The following video explains how to mount this accessory (included with your bike) onto your bike.

If you would prefer to replace your pannier rack with a basket, you can purchase one from your local Decathlon store using item code 8375474.

WHAT ADJUSTMENTS DO YOU NEED TO MAKE BEFORE YOUR FIRST RIDE?

Before setting out on your first ride, it's essential that your bike is properly adjusted (if it wasn't already adjusted in the store) and its tyres are correctly inflated (see section below). You'll need a No.6 Allen key to perform these adjustments.

Please carefully follow the instructions in this video:

PROBLEMS?

THE WHEEL MAKES NOISE WHEN RIDING

If the noise is coming from the front wheel, this could be due to: 1- The brake pads touching the rim. See the section "The brakes aren't effective enough" to properly adjust your brake pads. 2- The mudguard touching the tyre. If the noise is coming from the rear wheel, it could be due to: 1- The brake pads touching the rim. See the section "The brakes aren't effective enough" to properly adjust your brake pads. IMPORTANT: Before making the adjustment, make sure that the wheel is properly aligned. To straighten the wheel, use a No.15 spanner to loosen the rear wheel and centre it within the frame. 2- The mudguard is touching the tyre (see above video). If the noise persists, please bring your bike to your nearest Decathlon workshop for an in-depth diagnostics.

THE BRAKING IS NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH

Braking quality is impacted by a number of factors. Poor braking can be manifest by squeaking when braking, or brake levers that feel "soft" when squeezed. To fix these conditions, follow these steps: 1- Check the orientation of the brake pads. They must follow the contour of the wheel rim without touching the tyre, and ideally be placed 1 mm away from the rim with an additional 0.5 cm of space at the back of the pad (so that the pads are not perfectly parallel to the rim, which is what creates the noise). 2- Adjust your brakes. 3- Replace the brake pads if they are worn down. You will need to replace your brake pads more or less frequently depending on how often you ride. Brake pads have grooves which allow them to evacuate water effectively. If the grooves are no longer visible, or just barely, it's time to change the brake pads. To do this, please go to the section on "Bike Maintenance and Repairs" and follow the tutorial on "How to change your brake pads". Pads are available for purchase on this website. You can also bring your bike to the nearest Decathlon workshop where they can replace the brake pads for you.

HOW TO USE THE DYNAMO

The ideal tyre pressure is 3.5 bar. IMPORTANT: Keeping your tyres inflated at or above this level ensures better puncture-resistance and a good balance of comfort and performance.

THE LIGHTS DON'T WORK

If your lights don't work, there may be several possible causes: 1- Check that the dynamo is in the correct position, pressing against the tyre. 2- Check that the dynamo is plugged in. 3- Watch the below video to check the electric wires (the light will not work if there is a short circuit). 4- If the lights still don't work, please contact us for help or bring your bike to your nearest Decathlon workshop.

YOUR GEARS ARE NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY

Gears that do not shift properly can be due to a number of factors. 1- Did you take your bike to a Decathlon workshop for your first free tune-up? When you purchase a bike from Decathlon, you also get a free inspection and tune-up of your bike within the first six months of your purchase, where a service technician will check all your bike adjustments including gear changes. Don't forget! 2- Your drivetrain cable and/or housing is worn out or old. You should replace the cable and/or housing if it is damaged. 3- Your derailleur needs adjustment. Turn the high (H) and/or low (L) stop screws to adjust how your derailleur shifts gears, especially if your chain tends to jump the rear cogs. If the problem persists after these adjustments, please take your bike to your nearest Decathlon workshop for an in-depth diagnostics.
