First use

How to use the dynamo correctly

To use the dynamo without damaging your tyre, follow the recommendations shown in the video below:

Which luggage systems are compatible with your bike?

For this bike, we've developed a front luggage system (a front rack for this model).

The following video explains how to mount this accessory (included with your bike).

If you'd prefer a pannier instead of a rack, you can buy one from your local DECATHLON store (product code 8375474).

The right tyre pressure for your bike

The recommended tyre pressure is 3.5 bars.

IMPORTANT: Inflating your tyres to at least 3.5 bars ensures better puncture-resistance and a good balance between comfort and performance.

What to set up before your first ride

Before setting off on your first ride on your new bike, you need to make sure it's properly adjusted (if it was not already adjusted in the store) and the tyres are fully inflated (see below). To do this, you'll need a 6 mm Allen key.

Follow this video carefully to set up your bike:

Got a problem?

The lights don't work

If your lights aren't working, there may be several different reasons: 1. Check that the dynamo is sitting correctly on your tyre; 2. Check that the dynamo is properly plugged in; 3. Watch the video below to check the electrical connections (bearing in mind that if one light isn't working, both will be short circuited); 4. If these steps don't resolve the problem, contact customer support or visit your local DECATHLON store

Your gears aren't shifting properly

If your gears aren't shifting properly, it could be due to various things: 1. Have you had your free first service? When you buy your product, DECATHLON gives you a free check-up service up to 6 months after your purchase in order to check the set-up, including how the gears are shifting. It's worth remembering! 2. Your gear cable and/or housing is worn or stretched. You'll need to change the cable and/or the housing if it's damaged. 3. The derailleur itself needs adjusting. Use the H and L limit screws to adjust the derailleur, particularly if your chain tends to jump on the back gears. If that still doesn't work, visit your local DECATHLON workshop so they can investigate more thoroughly.

Your braking isn't powerful enough

The braking quality depends on a lot of things. You know your braking quality is poor if you can hear a noise when braking, or if you notice the brake levers feeling "spongy" when you squeeze them. To solve the problem, work through these steps: 1. Check the positioning of the brake pads. They should be in line with the rims without touching them - ideally 1 mm away from the rim and with an additional 0.5 mm at the back (so that the pads aren't perfectly parallel with the rim, as this is what causes noise); 2. Adjust your brakes; 3. Replace the brake pads if they're worn. How often you need to change the brake pads will depend on how often you use your bike. Brake pads are grooved, which is how they shed water. If you can no longer make out these grooves, or if they look shallow, it's time to change your brake pads!! If you need to do this, head to the "Repairing and maintaining your product" tab and follow the "How to change your brake pads" tutorial. Brake pads are available from our website following this link. You can also visit your nearest Decathlon workshop to have them changed.

The wheel makes a noise

If you've got a noise coming from your front wheel, it could be because of: 1- The brake pads touching the rim. See the "Your braking isn't powerful enough" section to get your brake pads set up correctly; 2. The mudguard touching the tyre. If you've got a noise coming from your back wheel, it could be because of: 1- The brake pads touching the rim. See the "Your braking isn't powerful enough" section to get your brake pads set up correctly. IMPORTANT: Before making the adjustment, make sure that the wheel is properly aligned. Use a 15 mm spanner to loosen the rear wheel and adjust its centring against the frame. 2. The mudguard touching the tyre (see video above). If the noise persists, please visit a Decathlon store near you for an in-depth assessment.
