FIRST USE

What type of racket is compatible with the Personal Coach Pod?

The Personal Coach pod fits all adult rackets on the market that have a throat. It is not therefore suitable for wooden rackets.
Data recorded by a Pod attached to a junior racket measuring less than 25" is not reliable so we advise you not to use the Pod on junior rackets.

How can I make sure my Pod is properly attached to my racket?

To get the most accurate data, make sure your Pod is properly attached.
Once attached, try to move it up and down, turn it, and push on the back of it to see if it moves.
A poorly attached Pod will not detect data as precisely as a properly attached one. Poorly attached, it might fall off the racket and get damaged.

How can I check the battery level of my Personal Coach Pod?

When you turn the Pod on, the number of lights that come on indicates the battery remaining in your Pod.

1 flashing led : <10%

1 led on: 10%-32%

2 led on: 33%-65%

3 led on: 66%-100%

How do you attach the Personal Coach Pod to a racket?

The Personal Coach Pod can be fitted to any adult tennis racket that has a throat.

In the Pod box, 4 straps are provided: 2 blue and 2 yellow. There are 2 sizes per colour.
1. Slide the long strap into the top brackets on the back of the Pod and the short strap into the lower brackets.
2. Place the Pod in the throat of the racket and wrap the straps around the branches. Tighten the straps to avoid unwanted vibrations.

What should I do if my watch doesn't detect my Pod?

If your watch doesn't detect your Pod, check that the Pod lights are flashing.
- If the lights are not flashing, it means your pod is out of battery or doesn't work any more.
- If only one light is flashing, it means the ANT+ mode, which enables Pod and watch to communicate, is disconnected. In this case, turn the Pod off and then on again and restart the pairing process.
- If two lights are flashing and your watch hasn't detected your Pod, it might mean that your watch has detected another Pod nearby. Move at least 30m away from any other (switched on) Pods.

OTHER QUESTION ?

Can the Pod distinguish between a serve and a smash or high volley?

The Pod cannot yet distinguish a serve from a smash or a high volley. The movement is almost exactly the same for all three, so the Pod identifies them all as serves.

Does the string influence the measurement of my serve speed?

No. The string and tension have no influence on the measurement of your serve speed.

How precise is the Personal Coach Pod?

The Pod detects shots with the following accuracy:
- 85% of serves are correctly estimated at +/-15km/h. The remaining 15% are less accurate. A VICON camera system was used as a reference.
- 90% of forehands/backhands/serves are correct in terms of sweetspot accuracy,
- 99.5% of forehands/backhands/serves are correctly identified in terms of shot type.

Where can I get new straps from?

Can I go back to a session I've already left?

If you've already left a session, you can find the related statistics in the "Stats" mode.
Another session begins when you return to "Training" or "Match" mode.

Are there shots/movements that are not recorded by the Personal Coach ?

BEWARE: the Pod does not work with foam balls.

What should I do if my watch doesn't detect my Pod?

If your watch doesn't detect your Pod, check that the Pod lights are flashing.

- Turn on the pod. You now have 5 mins for it to be detected by your watch.
