What type of racket is compatible with the personal coach pod?

The Personal Coach pod fits all adult rackets on the market that have a throat. It is not therefore suitable for wooden rackets.Data recorded by a Pod attached to a junior racket measuring less than 25" is not reliable so we advise you not to use the Pod on junior rackets.

How can i make sure my pod is properly attached to my racket?

To get the most accurate data, make sure your Pod is properly attached. Once attached, try to move it up and down, turn it, and push on the back of it to see if it moves. A poorly attached Pod will not detect data as precisely as a properly attached one. Poorly attached, it might fall off the racket and get damaged.

How can i check the battery level of my personal coach pod?

When you turn the Pod on, the number of lights that come on indicates the battery remaining in your Pod. 

1 flashing led : <10%

1 led on: 10%-32%

2 led on: 33%-65%

3 led on: 66%-100%  

How do you attach the personal coach pod to a racket?

The Personal Coach Pod can be fitted to any adult tennis racket that has a throat.

In the Pod box, 4 straps are provided: 2 blue and 2 yellow. There are 2 sizes per colour. 1. Slide the long strap into the top brackets on the back of the Pod and the short strap into the lower brackets. 2. Place the Pod in the throat of the racket and wrap the straps around the branches. Tighten the straps to avoid unwanted vibrations.

What should i do if my watch doesn't detect my pod?

If your watch doesn't detect your Pod, check that the Pod lights are flashing. - If the lights are not flashing, it means your pod is out of battery or doesn't work any more.- If only one light is flashing, it means the ANT+ mode, which enables Pod and watch to communicate, is disconnected. In this case, turn the Pod off and then on again and restart the pairing process.- If two lights are flashing and your watch hasn't detected your Pod, it might mean that your watch has detected another Pod nearby. Move at least 30m away from any other (switched on) Pods.

Can the pod distinguish between a serve and a smash or high volley?

The Pod cannot yet distinguish a serve from a smash or a high volley. The movement is almost exactly the same for all three, so the Pod identifies them all as serves.

Does the string influence the measurement of my serve speed?

No. The string and tension have no influence on the measurement of your serve speed.

How precise is the personal coach pod?

The Pod detects shots with the following accuracy: - 85% of serves are correctly estimated at +/-15km/h. The remaining 15% are less accurate. A VICON camera system was used as a reference.- 90% of forehands/backhands/serves are correct in terms of sweetspot accuracy,- 99.5% of forehands/backhands/serves are correctly identified in terms of shot type.

Where can i get new straps from?

You can order new straps by getting in contact with our support team.

How many sessions can i record in statistics mode?

The watch records up to 5 sessions (training or match). When subsequent sessions are created, the oldest ones will be deleted. 

Can i delete a session recorded in statistics mode?

It is not possible to delete a session. The deletion is done naturally after 5 sessions. The new replaces the oldest.

Does the pod record a shot if i hit a ball back to my opponent between two rallies?

The pod counts all shots you hit towards your opponent so in this case, yes, it does record a shot.

What do the different shot pictograms mean?

A straight racket represents a serve.A racket pointing to the right represents a forehand for a right-hander or a backhand for a left-hander.A racket pointing to the left represents a backhand for a right-hander or a forehand for a left-hander.

Can i go back to a session i've already left?

If you've already left a session, you can find the related statistics in the "Stats" mode. Another session begins when you return to "Training" or "Match" mode.

Are there shots/movements that are not recorded by the personal coach ?

The Personal Coach Pod detects shots with pressurised and non-pressurised balls. However, certain other movements (juggling, picking up a ball or bouncing the ball with the racket) are deliberately ignored.BEWARE: the Pod does not work with foam balls.

What should i do if my watch doesn't detect my pod?

If your watch doesn't detect your Pod, check that the Pod lights are flashing. - If the lights are not flashing, it means your pod is out of battery or doesn't work any more.- If only one light is flashing, it means the ANT+ mode, which enables Pod and watch to communicate, is disconnected. How do i pair my personal coach watch to my personal coach pod?

For the watch to detect the Pod, you must:- Make sure you are less than 1 metre from the pod and that no other pod is turned on nearby (>30 metre radius). For subsequent pairing, you don't need to respect this 30m limit. - Turn on the pod. You now have 5 mins for it to be detected by your watch.- Enter one of the modes: training, match or challenge- The watch will try to detect your pod. It might take a few seconds. - Once the pod has been detected, you can go ahead and play.

Does the pod record a shot if i pick up a ball with my racket?

The Pod does not record a shot in this instance.

Does the pod record a shot if i touch the net or windbreaks?

The Pod does not record a shot in this instance.

Does using the personal coach pod impact my game?

Depending on your ability and sensitivity, the pod can have a slight influence on the performance of your racket.

Does the pod alter the balance point of my racket and how much does the personal coach pod weigh?

Placed at the base of the throat, the Personal Coach pod only alters the balance point very slightly (around 0.3 mm).

It weighs only 20g. 

Is the personal coach pod waterproof?

The Personal Coach Pod is waterproof to 1ATM, meaning it will resist light rain and is splash proof and sweat proof.

How do you recharge the personal coach pod battery?

Charge your Personal Coach Pod by plugging it in to your (switched on) computer using the USB cable provided.You can also recharge it by plugging it into the mains with a suitable adaptor (not provided).The Pod has 6 hrs autonomy.It takes approximately 3 hours to fully recharge it.

What do the flashing lights mean?

When turning your Personal Coach Pod on, for the first 5 seconds the lights indicate your battery level.After 5 seconds, 2 lights flash indicating that the Pod can communicate with a watch. From that moment, you have 5 minutes to pair a watch to your Pod. After 5 minutes, only one light will flash and you will no longer be able to pair with a watch. You'll have to turn your Pod off and back on again.When you want to turn your Pod off, press the top button for 3 seconds - the lights will flash one after the other.

How do you turn the personal coach pod on/off?

Turn your Personal Coach Pod on/off by pressing the button on top of the Pod for 2 seconds. Confirmation of your action is indicated by the lights flashing one after the other. 

What is the maximum range between the watch and the pod?

The watch to pod functioning range is not a fixed distance. It depends on usage conditions: outdoor, indoor, etc…The two can connect up to a distance of around 20 metres depending on the infrastructure.That said, the closer the pod and watch, the better they will work together!

Why is the watch not showing my shots?

Check there is a connection between the pod and the watch. If it is more than 20 metres from the pod, the connection may have been interrupted.Check that 2 lights are flashing on the pod. If only one light is flashing, turn the pod off and restart the pairing process (add a link to the previous question). In this case, you will start a new session (training or match)

Is the watch waterproof?

It is waterproof to 5ATM, which means that it is resistant to rain and when you wash your hands or take a shower. 

What type of battery is used in the tw personal coach watch?

A CR 2032 battery.

How long will the tw personal coach watch battery last?

Battery life depends on how often you use it: - 3 hours of use per week, the battery will last 2 years,- 1 hour of use per week, the battery will last 3 years.

What does the tw personal coach watch display when used with a personal coach pod?

When paired with a Personal Coach Pod, the watch displays: - your serve speed, - your shot type: forehands, backhands, serves, - your sweetspot accuracy for serves, forehands and backhands.

What are the different modes of the tw personal coach watch?

It has 4 modes:- Tennis: enables you to use the Personal Coach pod whilst playing- Running: enables you to use the pod and watch whilst running - Statistics: enables you to view the data captured during training sessions and matches.- Settings: enables you to establish settings for your watch and data.

The tennis mode has 3 sub-modes: - Training: enables you to use the pod during training sessions- Match: enables you to use the pod in match mode and to count points- Challenge: enables the use of 2 pods simultaneously and to challenge another player who's using a Personal Coach
