D100 Installation

Here are some tips on using your new turbo trainer for the first time:

  • 2. FIRST USE

FITTING YOUR BIKE ON A TURBO TRAINER

To install your bike on the D100 turbo trainer choose:
    1. The correct wheel axle based on:
    - the type of brake (rim / disc)
    - the frame spacing at the back of your frame.

(Please note: For sizes 142 x 12 mm and 148 x 12 mm, use your bike's thru axle)

Once you've identified this, use the "ring mounts" provided and place them on the turbo trainer.

    2. Put your chain on the small chainring and the small cog and remove the rear wheel.

    3. Then, put your chain on the D100 home trainer's ZWIFT CLICK & COG and finally tighten the axle.

  • 2. FIRST USE

    CONNECTING YOUR TURBO TRAINER

Switch on your turbo trainer. Wait until the LEDs under the Van Rysel logo start flashing. Then search for your home trainer on your favourite indoor training app and connect the two via Bluetooth or ANT+.

  • VAN RYSEL INRIDE D500: user guide, repairs

    CLEANING YOUR TURBO TRAINER

After every training session, you should clean your D100 with a damp cloth. This will remove any dust and sweat that collects on it.

Switch off your D100 before you start cleaning.

  • 4. MAINTENANCE

    CHECK FOR STABILITY

Since the feet can't be adjusted manually, make sure that your floor is flat and that all four feet are touching it.

If it's unstable, you could damage the product.

7. TROUBLESHOOTING

I can't connect my turbo trainer to a third-party app.

ANDROID:
Here's some context for understanding the "Android" world:
There are a huge number of different brands, Android versions, and Bluetooth chips. This sometimes makes it difficult to guarantee flawless connectivity to an Android device.

If you encounter a connectivity issue, first try connecting with another device such as an Apple or Windows device.

If you manage to connect this way, then the problem is related to your device and not a turbo trainer connectivity issue.

If you still can't connect, then your product may be defective, in which case we encourage you to contact our after-sales service.

You can also try to solve the problem using the following method:

1 - Disconnect from your Bluetooth and unplug the charging cable from your turbo trainer. 2 - Restart the Bluetooth on your Android device and consult the list of Bluetooth devices via the settings menu on your phone or tablet.

If your turbo trainer appears, "Forget/Remove" it from the list. (Your turbo trainer connection must be done via your training app (Onelap fit/Zwift/Onelap/Bkool, etc...) and not from the settings of your phone, tablet, or computer.)

If your turbo trainer does not appear, move on to step 3.
3 - Plug your product back in (the LEDs will blink red, then blue)
4 - Visit your preferred training app to set up the connection. (When a connection is made, the upper blue LED will remain lit. The lower LED will only stay lit when the turbo trainer is "Sending data")

5 - Train on your favourite app!

iOS / APPLE / MAC / WINDOWS:

If you encounter a connectivity issue, first try connecting with another device such as an Apple or Windows device. OTHER:

The D100 Turbo Trainer only has Bluetooth FTMS connectivity. This is the only connectivity it has.

1. Check that your device has a Bluetooth feature and that the Bluetooth is turned on.
2. Check that all of the nearby Bluetooth devices which could be connected to the D100 turbo trainer are not paired with the D100.
3. Bluetooth FTMS connectivity is not compatible with smart watches or cycle computers.

2. MAINTENANCE
I can't connect my turbo trainer to ONELAP FIT

To pair your turbo trainer to the ONELAP FIT app:

1. Check that you're using the latest version of the ONELAP FIT app.

2. Check your phone to make sure that Bluetooth is on and has been so for more than 15 seconds.

3. Check that your turbo trainer has not already been paired with another phone.

3. The turbo trainer must be plugged in and switched on.

Cleaning your road shoes
The connection isn't stable.

The LEDs on the side of the turbo trainer show the status of the connection. Please refer to the instructions to find out what the LEDs mean.

Regularly check whether any updates are available on ONELAP FIT so that you can enjoy all of the turbo trainer's latest features.

2. MAINTENANCE
Incorrect power level displayed.

The turbo trainer must be calibrated regularly to guarantee the requisite accuracy. Calibration allows you to redress any movement in the mechanical assemblies over time.

We recommend you calibrate the turbo trainer before you use it for the first time and then every two weeks approximately.

Open the ONELAP FIT app, pair the turbo trainer and select the calibration module. Follow the instructions on the screen to confirm the calibration process.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING
The turbo trainer is connected but there's no resistance.

Switch off all Bluetooth devices in the vicinity of the turbo trainer.

They may cause interference during wireless communication.

Disconnect Bluetooth, then reconnect your turbo trainer.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING
When accelerating sharply, I can feel the resistance slipping.

If you feel a slipping sensation when you accelerate, then the belt on your turbo trainer is slack. Please contact customer services for help.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING
What does "maximum incline" mean on the turbo trainer?

It's the maximum gradient that the turbo trainer can simulate.

For example, if the turbo trainer's maximum incline is 12%, then the resistance won't increase any more, even if the slope is steeper. On the other hand, the power displayed will take the gradient into account.

6. TROUBLESHOOTING
What is ERG mode?

ERG is a mode for controlling the turbo trainer's resistance.

ERG mode controls the turbo trainer automatically so that you're working at a constant power. So, it'll automatically adjust the resistance based on your cadence.

6. TROUBLESHOOTING
Why can't I pedal when ERG mode is activated?

In theory, power = torque x RPM.

So, at a given power, if the cadence reduces significantly, then the resistance level will increase to the point that it is maximal. This means you'll find it hard or even impossible to get your turbo trainer going.

Tip: Turn ERG mode off in the app so that you can build up some cadence, then turn it on again.
