Welcome to the support page for your RCX 2 PRO CAPSULE.
Here are our top tips for using, maintaining and repairing your bike, plus a selection of spare parts.
Do not place the clamps (of the workshop stand or bike carrier) on the top tube (the tube that connects the saddle to the headset). Excessive pressure on this tube can weaken or even crack it.
You can place your clamp on the seat post.
To tighten the handlebars properly, carefully follow the tightening torque of 5 N.m and the cross-clamp assembly shown above.
Keep the same space at the top and bottom when tightened.
To install the wheels correctly, carefully follow the steps illustrated in the diagram below.
To help you get to grips with your new ride, here are some tips on using your RCX 2 for the first time:
BEDDING IN THE BRAKE PADS
Running in the brake pads is vital when using a bike for the first time.
To run them in properly, we recommend you brake 20 to 30 times at over 25 km/h, without locking the wheel. Also make sure you don't stop between braking to avoid "freezing" and thus sticking the pads to your discs.
TYRE PRESSURE
For your first outing, remember to choose your tyre pressure, depending on the weather conditions and your weight.
For dry terrain, inflate your tyres to between 2.5 and 3 bars. For damp terrain, drop the pressure to 2 bars.

Maintaining your bike is essential if you want to expand its lifecycle. That starts with regularly cleaning your bike, the frame and drive train.
Step 1
Place a cloth on top of the brake discs to prevent them from being covered with degreaser.Apply a degreaser to your drive train.
Step 2
Clean your bike, especially your drive train, with the aid of a brush. Be careful not to apply the brush to sensitive parts of your bike.
Step 3
Before lubricating your chain, make sure your bike is completely dry.
The tape on your handlebar will wear over time and you'll need to change it occasionally.
Follow our tuto to change it:
Your bike's wear parts all have a shelf life. If you don't replace them when necessary, it might cause other parts to wear more quickly or cause them to break:
- Chain: 5,000 km
- Cassette: 10,000 km
- Check the teeth on your chainrings and derailleur pulleys for wear.
Are your pedals broken?
NB: please note that the screw thread on the left pedal is inverted and that the pedal thus screws on in an anti-clockwise direction. The right pedal has a standard thread.
Be sure to use the correct tool to remove your pedals as you will need to use some force to unscrew them.
If you have a Sram crankset, don't forget to fit the washer as shown in the diagram below.
Please contact a Decathlon workshop or a Van Rysel certified centre to carry out the repair.
Watch the following video to learn how to change your rear derailleur:
If your derailleur is no longer responding to your gear changes, you may have to replace the cables and housings on the derailleur.
