The Decathlon Geocover application is available for a selection of bikes fitted with a compatible connected module.
Geolocate your bike at all times, receive notifications of suspicious movements and report your bike stolen directly from the app. Your Geocover-compatible bike will be your most reliable companion.
Install the DECATHLON GEOCOVER app and follow the registration procedure.
Your bike's serial number is made up of 10 characters (numbers and letters) and can be found on the frame:
The IMEI code is a unique code identifying your bike's built-in connectivity. It usually starts with the numbers 35 or 86 and is made up of 15 digits. It is printed on a small white label with a QR code that you can scan with your smartphone camera.
It can be difficult to read QR codes with your smartphone camera if the lens is dirty. We recommend you clean it properly beforehand.
If you keep having problems during this stage, you can enter the codes manually, as you are prompted to do when you first start the application.
Do you get an error message when entering your bike's activation code in the app? There are three possible reasons why:
If your bike can't be found, it means that it must be in a place that cannot be located by GPS:
- Either your bike is stored inside (underground), in which case we recommend you take a ride outside to reactivate it,
- or you're in an area where there is no network (woodland, rural area, etc.) which explains why you can't be located.
If the problem remains, please contact our support team via email at: [email protected]
You can lend your bike to a friend and so they can be located.
To do so, they'll need to download the app and follow the steps in this video.
Please note that you can only share with one other person (only the owner and the person it's shared with can see it).
You can set up a geofence to mark out the area where you usually park or lock up your bike.
You'll receive a notification each time your bike enters or leaves this zone.
This means that you'll know straight away if your bike leaves this pre-set zone without your knowledge (e.g. if it's stolen).
At the bottom of the home screen of the Decathlon Geocover app you'll find the "Geofences" function, which you can use to create a geographical area so that you can be alerted on your smartphone as soon as your bike leaves that zone.
To do this, select the geographical area and zoom in/zoom out to create the perimeter of the area in which your bike will be "tracked". As soon as the bike leaves one of these predefined areas, you will receive an alert on your smartphone via the Decathlon Geocover app.
The bike's built-in movement sensor alerts you to potential danger. If a thief tries to break into your lock, you will receive an instant notification, giving you the opportunity to take immediate action and scare them away.
It's also entirely possible that weather conditions, such as strong winds and heavy rain can trigger this type of alert.
If you don't want to receive notifications from the movement sensor, you can switch it off by going to the last tab on the Decathlon Geocover app menu and clicking on the "Notifications" tab, where you can uncheck the option 'When small movements are detected".
NB: You can also create "Geofences" around familiar places such as your home or place of work. Every time your bike enters or leaves this geographical zone, you will receive an alert.
You can view the latest rides you've made on the home screen of the Decathlon Geocover App. Just click on one of the rides to view details about it (map, duration, average speed and ride time).
If you click on "Show" in the "Rides" section on the right-hand side of the home screen, you'll see all the rides listed by date.
Yes, you can check out your statistics in the second tab of the Decathlon Geocover app: "Statistics". You can access your weekly bike use report in the first menu and also view the average bike use among other cyclists.
Yes, you can do this by clicking on the third tab on the app: "Bike".
Click on the third tab on this menu and you can access the "Battery" sub menu.It displays the actual battery charge level and an estimate of the distance you can travel with the remaining charge level.
The estimated distance can obviously vary according to your route (elevation, wind, the load on the bike, etc).
You'll need to do this if you sell your bike.
It will allow the future owner to be able to locate their bike. This video tutorial explains the steps you need to follow.
Your bike's connectivity functions are free for one year. After that, you can subscribe to the service directly in the app for €2 a month, with no commitment.
Connect your bike to your smartphone using the app. Your free year of connectivity will start with this first successful connection.
This free service is only available to buyers of a new bike, and not second-hand bikes.
At the beginning of the eleventh month of use of the App and the connected features of your bike, you will receive a message by e-mail and via the Decathlon Geocover app informing you that the free connectivity fees have come to an end.
You can then extend your subscription by paying the connectivity fee.
You can do so as soon as the 12 months of free connectivity offered with the purchase of your bike is over.
It is essential to report the stolen bike on the DECATHLON GEOCOVER application and lodge a complaint with your local police.
This will enable the police to initiate a search procedure.
You will have a different version of the application which will provide a URL tracking link for your bike that you can share with your police officer.
